Home sales jumped during January-March 2017 in Manhattan Beach. March delivered a major upswing in prices as well as the number of homes that closed escrow over the same period last year. .. Inventory increased over last year during the same period. Frist quarter sales are looking strong. Now the question is how strong will the Spring selling season be?
April is showing some interesting trends. As of April 25, 2017, 44 homes have closed escrow. April 2017 is looking to have more closed sales than any month in recent years. However, the median home price appears to have declined from March 2017. There are still a number of days left before the end of the month so it will be interesting to see how the month plays out. There are currently 68 properties in escrow and 93 available for sale.
Prices are still high and one month doesn’t mean much in a small market like Manhattan Beach but it does make you wonder if the market has hit a high spot and is going to even out for awhile. If it does that would actually be good news for buyers who have had a difficult time finding a home in today’s fast moving real estate market.
